Meet our Team
Kristin Foley, DVMOwner
Dr. Kristin Foley grew up in the middle of the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, before attending Va. Tech for her undergraduate degrees in Biology and Animal Science. After graduation, she moved to North Carolina to explore different career paths in veterinary medicine before attending NCSU-CVM. Dr. Foley graduated in 2002 and began a 1 year internship in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care at a local emergency clinic that was associated with NCSU-CVM. Upon completing her internship, Dr. Foley remained as a training doctor at the emergency clinic for the next 5 years. During this time, she also worked regularly at several daytime veterinary practices. In 2008, she was hired by the SPCA of Wake County to start up a low cost spay/neuter clinic that would service the general public and the SPCA. After four years, Dr. Foley decided to return to general practice full-time and opened Family Pet Animal Hospital in January of 2013.
Dr. Foley truly enjoys working with clients to help them provide the best care for their pets. She is focused on education and prevention, but excels at critical care and emergency medicine. During the past 11 years, Dr. Foley has performed over 10,000 surgeries and loves soft tissue surgery. Outside of the office, Dr. Foley enjoys hiking, reading, and traveling. She has hiked the down the south rim of the Grand Canyon and is hoping to hike down the north rim in the near future. Dr. Foley currently lives with her four-legged children (2 dogs, 2 cats) in Wake Forest, and hopes to move to the Garner/Clayton area in the next year.
Cassie HancockPractice Manager/ Veterinary Assistant
Cassie grew up at Atlantic Beach North Carolina, where she started riding horses at the age of 6. She has always enjoyed working with and being around animals. She moved to Raleigh to attend North Carolina State University, and received her degree in Animal Science in 2003.
She first met Dr. Foley while working at the After Hours Small Animal Emergency Clinic where she worked as an emergency/critical care veterinary assistant for 4 years. In 2008 she worked with Dr. Foley again in assisting with opening and running the Saving Lives Spay/Neuter Animal Clinic. When Dr. Foley decided to open a full service veterinary practice it seemed only natural that Cassie would participate in getting the clinic up and running. Cassie very much enjoys meeting patients and their owners and being part of the team to provide the best possible veterinary care to each patient. She finds it especially enjoyable to form a bond with clients and their four legged family members!
When not working Cassie can normally be found hiking with her four legged pals in one of North Carolina’s beautiful state parks, training for a trail run/obstacle course, or saddling up and hitting the trails on her horse. Any day spent outside is an enjoyable one!
